Spot Trace Theft Alert GPS Tracking Device
I'm pretty sure everyone knows someone who has had a bike, trailer or something valuable to them ripped off. There's always a sinking feeling in my stomach when I see a post on Instagram or Facebook about their dirt bike, quad or side by side missing from the garage when they get home or wake up. If you have a trailer full of bikes, gear, tools and go on a riding trip- last thing you want to do is walk out to it missing from the parking lot.
Spot makes this incredibly cool satellite GPS tracker called the Trace that will send you a text or email when it senses motion. Lots of features that can be setup custom, works just about anywhere and about 1/3 the size of a dollar. You can mount it out of sight, pretty much anywhere or on anything including all types of motorcycles. While it might not prevent theft it considerably increases the chance of recovering your valuables. The piece of mind alone is something to think about.
I mounted the Spot Trace on my dirt bike with the included mounting hardware and accessories. It came with some VHB double sided tape that you could mount to any type of surface without fear of it coming loose. I had enough room to install in the airbox without interfering with anything. This little guy is perfect for those with custom cruisers or ADV bikes that are decked out to survive anywhere.
To test the Trace's signal, I was also able to mount inside an enclosed trailer and still receive a notification meaning the metal roof did not interfere with the GPS signal.
